The Wenonah 17 is the boat that started it all back in 1965 - now built out of Wenonah's state of the art composite materials and layups. This canoe is great for recreational tandem paddling.

Wenonah Material and Construction

Kevlar®Ultra-light canoes are built out of strong but very light Kevlar® fiber. The inside and outside of the canoe shows the natural colour and weave pattern of Kevlar® fabric. Those canoes are ideal for long distance paddling and speed.

Kevlar®Flex-core canoes have a structural-foam core laminated within the layers of fabric that make the hull. This makes a slightly heavier but tougher boat which is more resistant to damage. They come in eight different colours. Those canoes are designed for general paddling on any water except extreme waters.

Wenonah Tuf-weave®Flex-core canoes are made from interwoven fabric made half of polyester and half of fiberglass. Canoes made of this material are Wenonah's most durable composite canoes. These are a good compromise between price and weight.
