We call this boat the jack of all trades because it handles any water you throw at it with ease. Wenonah designed the Prospector 15 to be extremely manoeuvrable. The steeply rockered hull creates a boat that turns nimbly and easily on whitewater. The extra depth and good stability helps it to run dry even when weighed down with gear. It makes river paddling a joy, and can handle the smaller, winding rivers that are usually the preserve of kayakers only. Curved hung web seats come as standard.
However, the Wenonah Prospector 15 is equally at home on lakes, canals and calm seas, tracking beautifully for long distances as well as short.
As well as being an excellent tandem canoe, the Wenonah Prospector 15, when fitted with a kneeling thwart, makes an excellent solo canoe, so that you need not make the decision between solo and tandem.
Replacing royalex, T-Formex consists of multi-laminate sheets, painstakingly designed specifically for each model. At the centre of the material is a closed-cell, rigid foam core, that makes the canoe more buoyant, and gives a more sturdy and durable structure.
T-Formex boats are some of the toughest on the market, making them a great choice for whitewater paddlers, families, expedition goers, and sportspeople. Perhaps most significantly, though, T-Formex is almost as light a royalex was, creating a boat that feels light through the water, and is easy to portage. Evidence to date also indicates that it is more robust than royalex.
The Wenonah Prospector 16 weighs 71lbs (32.2kg)
