The Ainsworth ABS Ocean Two-Piece Glass Straight Shaft Paddle is a high-angled paddle designed to be the ultimate power machine. Perfect for moving water fast, either when touring or racing, the large blades feature an ergonomic teardrop-shaped design with fine edges that helps you to conserve energy while covering more ground.
This Ocean 2-Piece Glass Straight Shaft Paddle is constructed using the highest quality of ABS Plastic, with a high content of butadiene (synthetic rubber), making it the most expensive form of ABS that offers the level of durability that Ainsworth is known for. This particular material is suited well for use by adventure centres, clubs, or individuals that want a long-life product that still feels lightweight meaning a long life for the paddle and longer days out at sea for you.
The two-piece shaft has been constructed with the same design as the straight glass shaft then split in the centre with the use of a cam and lever which clamps onto a smaller diameter spigot made using the same shaft material. This offers an overall adjustment of 10cm telescopic extension in addition to a full range of feather angles that are available for both left and right-handed canoeists, making it perfect for club and centre use due to its ultimate adaptability and simple-to-use design.
Length: 210cm - 220cm adjustable
Ainsworth Paddle Length Guide
The most important factors in choosing the length for your paddle are your height and the type of kayaking, Canoeing or SUP’ing you'll be doing. We have tried to help you with this by creating a paddle guide, this is a guide only and there are other points to consider:
Personal preference is also an important factor.
People with long back require longer paddles.
A longer paddle gives you more support and makes it easier to learn to roll.
A floaty blade such as the AFT Classic range gives more support and the paddler uses less energy.
Children require a shorter paddle
In general, the longer the kayak, the longer the paddle.
