The Firecracker and the Ripper, both long-standing favourites of British kayakers, have recently been reengineered with Elite outfitting that takes whitewater kayaking to the next level. Elite Outfitting
When the Elite outfitting system was originally released it was exclusive to the ReactR kayak, but due to overwhelming demand Pyranha has expanded its offering. This means that right now, the new Pyranha Ripper 2 Elite and Pyranha Firecracker Elite are fully equipped with this outfitting and all new whitewater kayaks will also be compatible with this exciting innovation.
In Pyranha’s own words, they didn’t just go back to the drawing board with their outfitting redesign; they built it again, from the hull up, and the proof is here for everyone to see and experience. The overall aim of these upgraded designs is to improve comfort, enhance performance, and strengthen a user's connection to their kayak without compromising any of the key features that made the original designs such a joy to use, so let’s take a look at what’s new!
Pyranha Firecracker Elite

This redesigned kayak opens up a world of possibilities and makes it easier than ever to conquer new moves and push your limits on the water with the right whitewater kayak for the job. The upgraded design delivers an outstanding stable performance and a thrilling experience thanks to its extensive new features, including:
- Half-slice design
- Spinnable, surfable and stable planing hull
- Dry bow to keep you dry downriver
- Freestyle and airborne potential

And the attention to detail doesn’t stop once you’re out of the water. Whilst the outside shape of the cockpit rims have not changed, their inside shape has been deepened and padded to provide improved comfort when carrying the kayak to and from the water, and the seat can be unclipped and removed to provide more storage room.
