A paddler who is carrying ropes or intending on using ropes should always have a knife to hand, and the NRS Co-Pilot is the best Safety and Rescue knife we've ever sold.
The mounting clip, which can be fixed onto even the smallest buoyancy aids, allows for an incredibly easily accessible blade, which can be opened one-handed and is especially useful in high-stress situations, such as rope entanglement, where reacting quickly is key. There's no need to be digging around in your pockets to find your NRS Co-Pilot, you can mount it exactly where you need it.
The fixed blade on the NRS Co-Pilot means that there will never be the possibility of the blade collapsing onto your hand, which is always a possibility with lock knives. One side of the knife is completely blunt and safe, eliminating the danger of accidentally cutting your hand, and the knife has a blunt tip for added safety. On the blade itself, there are both smooth and serrated cutting sections, to create effective cutting of many materials.
Unique to NRS, the sheath locks the NRS Co-Pilot securely in place and will only come out when you squeeze both sides of the release. The knife also has excellent extras, such as a bottle opener, and the blunt side of the blade makes an excellent cream cheese spreader.
A truly fabulous piece of kit that does practically everything well, the NRS Co-Pilot should be at the top of any paddlers safety and rescue shopping list.
