Is Canoe and Kayak Store in financial trouble?
No. Richard has decided it is time to retire. Whilst he is happy to discuss selling the business to an interested and committed buyer, he has decided that is fairer to customers, suppliers and employees to be open and honest about his plans.
So, the plan is to close the business in December.
If I place an order now, when will I see my items?
We’ll do our best to make sure we only offer products we’re confident we can supply before we close the store.
For in-stock items, the usual delivery times will apply (you’ll find details on each product page).
For items not in stock, but available to order on our website, please call the office so that we can confirm the delivery timescale after liaising with our supplier.
If we can’t fulfil your order, we promise to refund your money.
I’m waiting for some items still to be delivered. When will I see them?
We’ve emailed every customer with an order that’s expected to take longer to deliver than the times quoted on the website. We’ll work with you to deliver by an agreed date. If we’re unable to deliver when we promised, we’ll give you your money back.
I need to exchange an item. Can I still do this?
Yes! Items can be returned in accordance with our Returns Policy until 31 January 2026. Just complete a returns form and send it with your item to us at Canoe and Kayak Store. We’ll exchange (subject to stock availability) or refund your item as requested.
What will happen to my Gift Voucher?
If you’ve been given a Canoe and Kayak Store Gift Voucher you have until 24 December 2025 to spend it.
If we have email details, we will be contacting the recipient (if their details were supplied) or the original purchaser, with a reminder that there is an unused Gift Voucher, to help make sure our loyal customers don’t miss out.
What will happen if I have a warranty issue?
If your item fails due to a manufacturing fault, your first port of call after 1 January 2026 should be the manufacturer. We’ll publish a full set of contact details before Christmas.
Until then, please contact us first and we’ll work with you to get your product repaired or replaced as efficiently as possible.
In either situation, please ensure that you retain your receipt/invoice as proof of purchase. If you purchased from our website, an invoice will have been emailed to you after the item was despatched.
When do the big discounts start?
It’s our intention to continue supporting our customers with great gear until the end of the year. We believe that our products are already competitively priced and we will continue to re-stock many items to meet demand.
However, where we need to clear stock, we will reduce some prices further. These items will not be re-stocked. Please check the website regularly for price reductions.
When will the shop and website close?
The shop will close to the public on 24 December 2025 and the website on 31 December 2025. We’ll be around in the new year to take care of exchanges and refunds.
When is the last time I can place an order?
We will be accepting web orders up until 31 December 2025. Orders required for Christmas delivery should be ordered by 19 December 2025.

Yes. Come and join us for an in-store celebration of 25 Years in Paddlesport and pick up a last-minute bargain. Doors open from 4pm on 11 December 2025.
